SonicMQ Tops Industry With First-Place Win in ADT's Programmers Report Java Writer's Choice Awards

BEDFORD, Mass., Jan 7, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SonicMQ(R) 3.5, Sonic Software's Internet messaging platform, received First Place for Messaging Middleware in ADT's Programmers Report Java(TM) Writer's Choice Awards for 2001. Based on the Java Message Service (JMS) specification, SonicMQ provides global organizations with highly scalable, standards-based Internet middleware for the secure delivery of business-critical data across the extended enterprise. SonicMQ beat out other established messaging middleware providers, including IBM MQSeries for top honors.

ADT's Programmers Report Java Writer's Choice Awards "spotlight exceptional examples of the tools and technologies that truly help Java developers." In selecting this year's winners, an international group of sixty-four independent Java experts examined more than 1,000 products in a variety of categories.

In announcing the awards, ADT Product Review Editor John K. Waters writes, "our voters chose JMS-based SonicMQ to top the list of MOMs this year." SonicMQ was recognized for its ability to provide guaranteed end-to-end transactional message integrity, which is critical to building a highly-distributed enterprise infrastructure.

In December, Sonic Software shipped SonicMQ 4.0, the latest version of the messaging platform. New product features including direct support for HTTP/S connections, client-side persistence, enhanced wireless capabilities, support for large-size message delivery (such as CAD and XML documents) and multi-part message streaming.

The awards are published in the November/December issue of Application Development Trends (www.adtmag.com). Published by 101communications, ADT's Programmers Report is a bi-monthly magazine addressing the informational needs of programmers across key development languages and platforms.
